Outstanding faculty are at the heart of exceptional universities, and the expansion of the College of Social Science’s already strong faculty is central to our College’s goal of enhancing the quality and stature of units in the College of Social Science. The Distinguished Senior Scholar Program at Michigan State University was established in 2018, as a major College of Social Science initiative. The program aims to promote inclusive excellence by recruiting exceptional senior faculty who bring distinction to MSU, substantially enhance the College of Social Science standing, and support the advancement of Institutional Access, Opportunity, and Excellence.
